Anusri Mukhopadhyay

Principal Engineer
Website Developer

There are a number of really good reasons for building websites. The top three that I resonate the most being.

01.

Having a website makes it very easy for people to find you, read up about your company.

People are able to find you – anytime, anywhere. Even outside of business hours, your website continues to find and secure new customers. User can browse your website in the comfort of their own home, with no added pressure to buy.

02.

Helps you market your business online, showcase, and find the right customers.

With the ability to break through geographical barriers anyone, from any country, will be able to find your company and as such, is now a potential customer.

03.

Adds value to business by opening opportunities for increasing profitability.

In addition to simply displaying information, sell goods & services directly to consumers. Eliminating cost overheads, lower your prices, giving your business that real competitive edge.

I do interesting stuff in my field of work everyday. Website creation is lot of fun, and a lot of things go into making a website. Let me brief you on the areas that I focus on.

User friendly UI experience. Optimized page speed. Optimized api calls. SEO compliant.

Progressive Webapps (aka PWA), which can litterally mimick a mobile app. Can run on offline mode as well. Using caching strategies for a better user experience.

Use of Analytics. Analytical tool are used for websites that wish to track user journeys for better user experience, and are recommended for certain types of businesses alone.

Spoiler alert !! I have role different than a UI/UX designer.

My magic numbers

There are some important numbers I follow. Nothing serious, just helps me maintain coding standards.

600+

Never exceed 600 lines of code per file. Code needs to be modularized. Code should be easy to read, clear, concise, correct and FAST.

10%

10% of bugs are directly proportional to 90% of time rush. If its taking time, it probably demands so. Get it correct the first time, else it'll come back.

x3

If its the 3rd rework, you need to get a better picture, think the process through. This number sometimes needs a relax, as business requirments may change.
